We all want to protect our children, from making sure that they are safe at school or while crossing streets, to keeping them safe from predators and unsavoury people. This spell is versatile and encourages the guardians to shield your child, whatever their age.

MATERIALS

• A tigers eye stone
• A photo of your child
• A lock of your child's hair
• A pillar or altar candle in white or preferably lavender scented, and a candleholder

1 tbs dried angelica root

A small drawstring pouch

RITUAL

Cleanse and empower your crystal. During a full moon phase, set up a small altar, placing your child's photo in the center. Take the lock of hair and the stone and situate them directly in front of the photo.

Put the candle in a holder and situate it on top of the photo before lighting it.

Angelica Root summons the angels and has powerful protective properties. Sprinkle the dried Angelica Root around the photo, candle, stone, and lock of hair, forming a circle. Say the following once:

"Archangel Gabriel, custodian of children, please hear my plea this day, Shine down your powerful rays and blend your magic with mine. So mote it be."

Then recite the following spell twelve times:

"Bring power to this magical charm, let nothing appear to hinder or harm. Safely they stay in the arms of your love, the highest protection I seek from above."

After you have recited the spell twelve times, close it by adding "So Mote It Be." Let the candle burn for about an hour, then snuff it out. Gather up the angelica root, the stone, the photo, and the lock of hair and place all items into the drawstring bag. Hang this charm on the inside of your child's wardrobe or closet and leave it there. Keep the candle somewhere safe. If your child ever goes away or is outside of your care for any length of time, relight the candle. There is no need to repeat the spell. Each time you light the candle, the magic will top up.
